**Biography of Mr. Khondorai Bru**  

Early Life  
Mr. Khondorai Bru was born on 12th April 1987 into a humble family in the village of Bukvannei, Kolasib district, Mizoram. The second son of Sawitawram and Raderung, he grew up amidst financial hardships in a close-knit Bru community. His childhood was marked by resilience, as his family navigated the challenges of poverty. Tragedy struck in 1997 when ethnic clashes between the Brus and Mizos forced his family to flee Mizoram. Education 
Despite adversity, Khondorai excelled academically. He attended Bukvannei Primary School and stood out as a brilliant student, consistently topping his class until Grade IX. The displacement to Tripura disrupted his education, but his determination remained unshaken. In 2005, he achieved a milestone as the first in his family to pass the Class X examinations. This accomplishment fueled his aspirations for higher education. Later, he pursued a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science, graduating in 2015, followed by a Master’s degree in Rural Development in 2017—a testament to his commitment to uplifting marginalized communities.  

Personal Life 
On 23rd June 2006, Khondorai married his childhood friend, Mrs. Joinorung, beginning a partnership rooted in shared values and community spirit. Their family grew with the birth of their first child on 11th December 2006. Balancing familial responsibilities with his ambitions, Khondorai’s personal journey reflects perseverance and dedication.  

Career and Contributions  
Khondorai’s life has been defined by service to his community. Even before completing his education, he engaged in mediation efforts and provided free tutoring to underprivileged students, fostering hope among displaced Bru youth. His leadership qualities earned him the role of General Secretary of the Yuva Morcha (BJP Mizoram) in 2016, where he advocated for youth empowerment and tribal rights.  

In 2017, he founded the Foundation for Rural Reconstruction, an NGO dedicated to improving healthcare, education, and sustainable livelihoods for Bru communities. Through this platform, he has spearheaded initiatives such as skill-building workshops, advocacy for resettlement rights, and campaigns against social inequities. His work bridges grassroots challenges with policy-level dialogue, emphasizing inclusive development.  

Legacy and Ongoing Work  
Today, Khondorai Bru remains a beacon of inspiration. From a displaced child in Tripura to an educated leader and changemaker, his journey underscores the power of education and community solidarity. He continues to champion the rights of the Bru people, striving for reconciliation, development, and dignity. His story is not just one of personal triumph but a rallying call for collective progress in Mizoram and beyond.
